How many problems and issues have we left unsolved, unattended to, not catered for because we won’t involve and engage each other in conversations.
So this is a pressing question that I have had to answer and though I didn’t think deeply of it then, life has funny ways of reminding us of those things that were crucial but we didn’t quite recognise it. So I throw this back to you and the answer (whichever one you come up with) is between you and yourself.
Do you talk to people? OR Do you talk with people?
Conversation?
Numerous dictionaries would probably define it as; talking or chatting or discussion or a dialogue between two or more people. In our world now. How often do we having conversations with each other? The parable of Jesus feeding five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fishes (Matthew 14:13-21) arose from Him conversing with His disciples and also with the little boy.
Parents, caretakers and givers, are you talking to or with your children? Are you measuring out rules to your growing teenager or are you sitting with them to actually hear what is happening in their lives? You have been there, (in your generation) we know. But she hasn’t. He hasn’t.
Administrators, directors, employers, are you discussing with your co workers? Are you holding meetings to share together how to move forward or are shoving goals and targets down your employee’s neck because you can? You have been there (once upon a while ago), we remember. But they just started.
Spiritual and religious leaders, pastors, priest, are you teaching your congregation? Are you having conversations with them to hear what they are facing and where they are? Are you walking them through the hurdles or are condemning and ruling them out? You have been there (and it wasn’t easy), we saw. But she isn’t. He isn’t.
There isn’t that much you can do especially when you don’t even know what is wrong.
Also check out; I don’t know.
I refuse to not see life as cupcakes and rainbows 😁😁😁.
